At just 16, Caleb co-founded Cedar Robotics, where he developed robotic waiters to enhance the dining experience. He briefly attended the University of Washington before choosing to jump into the tech industry full-time.
In 2021, he co-founded Pongo, a platform that empowers developers to build smarter and more precise AI-driven search results for existing systems with just one line of code. Pongo graduated from the prestigious Techstars Seattle program in 2022 and was recently acquired by Moondream. Join us to hear Caleb share the story behind Pongoβs development, his early entrepreneurial successes, and his vision for the future of AI. This is a unique opportunity you wonβt want to miss! ππ₯

We are going to be exploring the experiences in Startups and Big Tech of our guests and will be gaining insights on the AI landscape and AI startups from Jon Turow and Kyle Roche. Currently Jon is a Technical Partner @ Madrona Venture Group, and Kyle Roche is the Founder & CEO of griptape.ai. Fun fact both Jon and Kyle were on the founding AWS team at Amazon!

Hear from Professor Kurtis Heimerl, a CSE professor & researcher @ the University of Washington, with a focus on Computer Networks, HCI, & ICTD. Kurtis is dedicated to improving internet access, especially in underserved areas. Kurtis received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering @ UW in 2007, & his Masters, PhD, and Post Doc from UC Berkeley. During his time at UC Berkeley, Kurtis became immersed in the entrepreneurial community & he co-founded Endaga, a mobile platform enabling under-served communities in remote areas of the world to build small-scale, independent cellular networks that they own and run themselves. Endaga was acquired by Meta in 2015. Kurtis currently also serves as a Technical Advisor @ Madrona Venture Labs.
Fun Fact: Kurtis is the faculty advisor for cseed & has been doing tons of work behind the scenes to foster an entrepreneurial culture within UW. :) -
